A Unique Museum in Lebanon

What We Stand For

MACAM’s mission is to revive the memory of Art in Lebanon, document and preserve it, and raise awareness of Lebanon’s shared art heritage by introducing it to present and future generations.

The museum aims to preserve Lebanese art heritage by collecting comprehensive information about the art scene throughout history. This includes details about artists, exhibition spaces, and artists’ exhibitions, which are then organized and categorized.

Dedicated to establishing a distinctive cultural institution in Lebanon focused on art and culture, we hold a deep appreciation for the inherent value of life and respect for individuals. We emphasize freedom of conscience, freedom of speech, and the importance of creativity and peace. We understand the profound significance of arts and cultural production in society and recognize the pressing need for a modern and contemporary art museum that provides ongoing accessibility to Lebanese art for the public.

Who we are

Situated atop a hill overlooking the Mediterranean Sea and the scenic Adonis Valley, our museum was formerly home to two factories. One produced colored wax crayons, white and colored chalk sticks, and school boards for children and schools, while the other manufactured multi-layered craft paper bags for cement and hydrated lime. These factories have been revitalized and transformed into a vibrant museum.
